2026 Can-Am Defender MAX Limited HD11

The 2026 Can-Am Defender MAX Limited HD11 is a six-passenger utility side-by-side that has been completely redesigned with a new, more powerful engine, a wider stance, an upgraded CVT transmission, and a significantly quieter, more comfortable cab. It is built for demanding work and all-season off-road performance.

Powertrain and capability

• Engine: The HD11 features a new Rotax 999cc, liquid-cooled, triple-cylinder engine that produces 95 hp and 70 lb-ft of torque. This is a considerable upgrade from the previous HD10 V-twin engine.
• Transmission: A new pDrive primary and Quick Response System X (QRS-X) CVT provides improved low-speed power delivery, better reliability, and enhanced throttle response.
• Drivetrain: The MAX Limited HD11 comes with the Smart-Lok locking front differential for superior traction. It offers multiple drive modes, including Turf Mode, 2WD, and 4WD with front differential lock.
• Performance modes: You can choose between Work, Normal, and Sport driving modes to optimize performance for the task at hand.
• Towing and payload: It has a class-leading towing capacity of 2,500 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,000 pounds (for the MAX model). 

Chassis and suspension

• Chassis: The completely new platform and rugged chassis are more robust and offer enhanced handling.
• Stance: With a 65-inch width and 50% larger arched double A-arms, the vehicle has a more stable, wider stance.
• Suspension travel: It features 12 inches of suspension travel both front and rear, with twin-tube gas-charged shocks.
• Ground clearance: The vehicle provides 14 inches of ground clearance.
• Brakes: Larger 262mm front discs with twin-piston calipers and 236mm rear discs with single-piston calipers deliver improved stopping power. 

Comfort and technology

• Enclosed cab: The Limited trim includes a fully enclosed cab with a new and improved HVAC system. The system offers better heating, cooling, and defrosting with simplified, three-knob controls.
• Infotainment: Standard on the Limited is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in GPS that works without a network connection. It also includes a rearview camera.
• Interior: The redesigned interior offers more legroom, better seats, and a quieter ride due to reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
• Power: A new 1,700W charging system provides ample power for accessories and electronics, doubling the output of the previous generation.
• Lighting: Full LED headlights, taillights, and signature lights are standard. 

Standard accessories

• Winch: Comes equipped with a 4,500-pound winch that uses a synthetic rope instead of a traditional steel cable. The rope floats, and the winch features an auto-stop function.
• Protection: Standard features include a full hard roof with a liner, a full plastic HMW skid plate, and a heavy-duty front bumper.
